I have been hosting B&B guests in my home since 1979, a very long time indeed. For most of these years my late husband and I shared the hosting. In fact, we ran (and I still run) one of the initial Bed & Breakfasts in New England, Alderwood B&B in Newton, Massachusetts (adjacent to Boston). I have provided a link to Alderwood (below).
Given I also have a home in a gorgeous area of Falmouth on Cape Cod, I thought it would be most fitting to move my hospitality business to the Cape for the summer season. This way I can enjoy being in this idyllic part of the world while sharing it with special guests from all over the globe. It seems like the perfect arrangement.
Along with hosting guests, I was also a training consultant for about 25 years. I helped people in wide ranging organizations work together more effectively. The subsequent 25 years have been spent creating art, which has always been my first true passion. My paintings are in collections all over the US and in many European countries. Here at Gunning Point B&B you will see much of my work. A link to my art website is also below.
When I am not welcoming guests and painting, I am either visiting my grandchildren in Nashville, TN or traveling the world for joy and inspiration. To date, I’ve traveled to about 70 countries, and I still have more to explore. Many of my paintings have been the result of seeing something in my travels that has made my heart sing. And what that might be often takes me by complete surprise.
I’ve been fortunate to visit nine African countries, many to see the magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Few things thrill me more than seeing the large wild cats, but I have to travel far for that pleasure. So, my loving companions here in Massachusetts have always been Siamese cats, and these days Bubke is by my side. He is a very handsome and affectionate seal point, and we are both very excited to welcome you to Gunning Point B&B, our little piece of paradise here in Falmouth.
